TERMS & CONDITIONS

Surcharges
There is no additional fee for a small tote or box, saddle and blanket. Blankets must be contained in tote or a bag. Difficult access roads and locations further then disclosed, during the original time of quote, could be subject to an additional charge. Included in the quote, is a 30 minute load or wait time. Difficult loaders or wait time could be subject to $120 per 30 minute. Any excess damage to the trailer or equipment caused by the horse, will be fairly estimated for repairs. Any suspect of damages will be disclosed before unloading the horse. Fuel and detour surcharges sometimes necessary depending on the current situation.

 

Quotes are valid for 30 days and subject to change thereafter.

Insurance of Horse(s) in Transit
Horse Owner understands and acknowledges that mortality, injury and medical insurance is not provided by the Transporter. Horse Owner agrees that he/she assumes all risks, expenses or liabilities associated with above described horse(s). Insurance policies are available through an equine insurance broker.

Emergency Agreement 
In the event the horse(s) require the services of a veterinarian, the Transporter will immediately attempt to notify the Horse Owner. In the event the Horse Owner cannot be reached, the Transporter is hereby authorized, as agent for Horse Owner, to call the first available licensed Veterinarian of his/her choice. All fees charged by said Veterinarian shall be the sole and exclusive responsibility of the Horse Owner.

Release of Liability
Horse Owner hereby voluntarily releases and forever discharges the Transporter (including employees) from any and all liabilities, claims, demands, actions or right of action which are related to, arise out of, or are in any way connected with the transport of above described horse(s). Transporter is not responsible for conduct or acts of horses to themselves or each other, nor loss or damage arising from the condition of the animals themselves, or which results from their nature or propensities. Transporter agrees to provide appropriate care of the horse while in transit.

Overnight Layovers
Transporter agrees to provide safe, appropriate stabling for horse(s) being transported if necessary. Overnight facilities may be necessary depending on road conditions and hours of travel. In any unforeseen circumstance, the extra expense of a layover, will be paid for by the Horse Owner.

Deposits and Cancellations
A non-refundable deposit may be required at the time of booking a stall on the trailer. The Horse Owner understands other horses may be refused due to their reservation. The Horse Owner understands they will forfeit the non-refundable deposit if they cancel for whatever reason. If Horse Owner cancels less then 48 hours before departure, or any issue arises preventing pick up of the horse, a 50% fee will be payable to Transporter. The transporter reserves the right to cancel or post-phone the trip due to hazardous weather, difficult circumstances or mechanical issues. In case of a total cancellation, a full refund of the booking fee will be refunded. Transporter reserves the right to cancel loading the described horse due to obvious illness, lameness, not being safe to handle, not halter broke, unsafe environment or difficult property access. Someone must be present at time of pick up and delivery unless otherwise arranged.

Eastwind Horse Transport reserves the right to refuse service to hostile situations, rude behavior or any situation that puts individual safety and well being, at risk.
